Finally. Finally, after months and months I saw a moose this past week. Not just one moose, but two! I was running the Coastal Trail in Anchorage and I saw the big fella eating just to the right of the trail. Of course I stopped and started taking photos. Then I noticed the little fella hiding behind him in the brush. At this point another couple came up the trail and said that this guy looked to be about two summers old and the other was born this past summer. Ahhh…. sweet!

They then started looking around and backing up because that meant that Mama Moose had to be around somewhere. I was maybe 15 feet away from the 2-year old moose at this point. I took his pic and also slowly started to walk away. A few more people came up and spooked them and they took off across the road. We never did see Mama, but I am pretty sure she saw all of us!

I mean seriously – doesn’t he look like he wants a big ‘ol Moose Hug?
