Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Takes on the Backroads

I love to drive. I bet you knew that already. My friends think I am nuts that I would rather take a 5-hour road trip rather spend a day out shopping. Behind the wheel, I feel free. I can go anywhere my heart desires and can experience a different side of life just by driving a few miles down the road. Changing your perspective can be as easy as changing your scenery. I did just that while reviewing the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.

I flew into Chicago, and the wonderful people at Mitsubishi had the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport waiting for me. I knew I would be traveling on icy roads throughout Indiana and was relieved to see that the Outlander had all-wheel drive. The tires grip the road and can handle snow and ice with ease, thankfully!

Thanks @Mitsubishi, this 2015 Outander Sport is perfect to road trip through the Midwest in. It’s rugged and beautiful – my kind of car! #mitsubishi #drivemitsubishi

I’ve not really driven a lot of SUVs before and wondered how the Outlander would handle the roads. The Outlander Sport is not overly large, but had a ton of room for my luggage and could seat 5 people easily.

It took a minute for me to figure out the whole headlight situation though. They have a few settings that you can choose from on where the beam hits the road. For the longest time, I couldn’t figure out if my lights were on or not! After that small issue, it was smooth sailing to Indiana! I also really liked the rearview camera feature that showed what was behind me as I was backing up and would alert me if I was close to anything. Safety first, my friends!

A cold Indiana sunrise… my Mitsubishi Outlander welcomed me inside with heated seats and all-wheel drive that took those icy roads like a champ. #mitsubishi #drivemitsubishi

Oh heated seats how I love you! It took the Outlander about 5 minutes to warm up from being completely frosted over. Not bad, considering in Alaska it takes my car at least 10-15 minutes before it is drive ready!

Outlander Dash

I thought it was appropriate to listen to John Mellancamp since we are from the same small town. 🙂 Oh, and the Outlander Sport’s audio system is pretty powerful and has great sound. Check out that subwoofer in my trunk pic! The 140-watt audio system in the Outlander Sport features SiriusXM and HD Radio.

Thank you @MitsubishiMotors for helping me roadtrip to see my Midwest family. <3 #drivemitsubishi #mitsubishi

Outlander Sunroof

I’m a sucker for opening up the sunroof and letting the cool winter air flow through the car. I also like to sit back when the seat warmers on and watch the stars light up the sky.

Outlander Goodbye

The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport doesn’t let you leave without telling you goodbye. I really enjoyed having this SUV and would recommend it to anyone wanting to do road trips. It was easy to handle, accelerated quickly, and stopped on a dime. I had a lot of fun driving it on my backroads throughout Indiana.
