Alaska is known for growing impressively large vegetables in the summer and hydroponic greens in the winter. Alaska farmers also grow a ton of produce such as many varieties of onions and potatoes, turnips and beets, parsnips and carrots, every type of lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkins, plus fruits such as blueberries, raspberries, crow berries, salmon berries, and apples. Find most of these crops at local farmers markets located throughout Alaska during season. In some areas of Alaska, there are year-round farmer’s markets located at indoor markets.
