I’ve had Porter Storm, my Mini Australian Multigenerational Labradoodle puppy for just a month now. He brings me so much joy and tries my very last nerve! I’ve never been blessed with children, so this little guy has been teaching me patience and how to open up my heart. I love him! I want to make his first holiday season a fun one – keep him safe, give him toys and chews he will love, and rub his belly until he falls asleep. I am traveling home for the holidays and want to have a Christmas stocking for Porter. Porter is sure to love his first puppy Christmas Stocking… it is filled with toys, good eats, and most importantly… a lot of love. <3

Puppy’s First Christmas Stocking
This might be the hardest part – which Christmas stocking to choose? I headed over to Etsy as I wanted Porter’s first Christmas Stocking to be original and handmade. I’m torn between these two – the Mini Dog Bone Stocking or the Paw Shaped Christmas Stocking. I really like the one that has the fish bones on it seeing how Alaska seafood, especially salmon, is a way of life here. Which one would you choose for you pup?

Paw Shaped Christmas Stockings
This paw shaped stocking is made out of fleece and cotton and is super cute with your pup’s name embroidered on it.
Pet Stocking Holder for the Mantle
I found these stocking holders where you send them a pic of your pup and they will hand draw a picture of your pooch right onto the stocking holder. Porter Storm is jet black and I wanted to get his stocking holder made with the white block. I think that look completely and utterly adorable! Knowing me, I wouldn’t put it away after the Holidays, but keep it up year round!

Stocking Stuffer Treats for My Pup!
Now comes the fun part – figuring out what I want to put in my puppy’s first Christmas stocking! But first, Porter wants to make sure he has something to leave out for Santa and his reindeer. I bet though that Porter will eat these gingerbread cookies before he lets Rudolph have them! Ha!
As a new pet mom, I am going grain-free with his diet. I was excited to see that these were made without grain, gluten, corn, or wheat. In fact, they were made with 100% human-grade organic and all-natural ingredients, perfect for my pooch.
Dogs and reindeer alike will love these crunchy peanut butter gingerbread flavored dog treats.
I am SO nervous about what Porter can and can’t chew on. Do a Google search of just about anything and there are good and bad reviews of just about anything you look up. People have opinions on everything including pet food, treats, and toys! While searching Etsy, I came across this local company based in Alaska that gathers driftwood along our coastal waters. This wood is weathered and tough and perfect for a game of fetch, which Porter is getting the hang of. What I really like though, is that they come etched with his name on it! How cool is that!?!
Every dog has some wild in them. These driftwood fetching toys are made to order, handcrafted, and personalized for your pup!
Holiday Doggie Tennis Balls
Porter Storm has a ton of balls, most of them currently live underneath my couch. I swear they multiply under there! The good thing about tennis balls though is that they are relatively inexpensive and can be replaced if he chews them up too much. Yep, he is in that phase. Look at these Holiday Tennis Balls – so cute and will be perfect his his first christmas stocking.
Fun tennis balls with Holiday sayings that make a great, easy stocking stuffer for your best friend.
Santa’s Helpers Chew Toys
Porter is in a full on Chewing Phase. He has at least a dozen chew toys and that doesn’t seem to be enough. I found this set of chew toys with a bright Green Elf, Santa Claus, and one of Rudolph. I might get these early though so he has all month to play with his Holiday friends. 😉
Choose between this adorable green Elf, a cuddly Reindeer, or the Big Guy himself – Santa. All three Santa’s Helper Chew Toys are sure to be a bit hit with your pooch this Holiday season.
Dog Nog
I don’t know what to make of Dog Nog yet… but I certainly want Porter to try it. You see, the little bugger will make a beeline for my coffee if I set it down and not pay attention. He loves it! If I bring a cup of coffee in the car, the minute I get out to get gas, run into the post office, whatever… he tries to flip the lid open and get his paws onto my Bulletproof Coffee. I kid you not! When I saw this Dog Nog I wondered if that would save my much-needed coffee from Porter. Next thing you know I will need to get him his own doggie coffee mug. 😉
Dog Nog is a fun holiday dog drink that your pup will love. Porter Storm absolutely loves to snag a quick drink of my coffee when I’m not looking. Now I can just pour him his own Dog Nog and maybe he will leave my coffee alone!
Candy Cane Dog Toy
Porter loves rope chew toys and hard rubber chews toys. With rope chew toys they can be larger as he can pull it onto his dog bed and go to town. He still hasn’t mastered the weight of some of the rubber chew toys, so he tends to latch onto his rope ones. I love this candy cane dog toy made out of green, red, and white ropes! Perfect for his Christmas stocking or to even hang on the Christmas tree!
New Dog Collar
I’m ordering Porter Storm a Service Dog in Training Harness… but for home, I’m seriously thinking of getting one of these super cute dog collars. After full-time traveling for four years, I still have a bit of a nomadic soul and this camping puppy collar makes me wistful of the days on the open road. At this Etsy store there were others ones I loved including one with Alaska moose and even a craft beer collar! I can see I might need one for every occasion! 🙂
What else should be in Porter’s first Christmas Stocking. What am I missing?
