Seward Music & Arts Festival

Last weekend, I went down to Seward for their annual Seward Music & Arts Festival. It is the big party at the end of summer when most of the tourists and seasonal workers have already headed home. Local Alaskan residents come from all over the state to hear some great bands, drink some great brew, and enjoy a weekend with friends.

Seward Music & Art Festival

Seward Music Fest - Dragon

All the kids in the community decorated a paper plate to make this gigantic Dragon. Seriously, it was awesome.

Seward Music Fest - Cake

These cakes and pies from Zudy’s Cafe are legendary. People come from all over the state for her baked goods. That good!

Seward Music Fest - Vendors

I loved the local artisans… of course the craft beer art was my fave!!

Seward Music Fest - Food

Local food vendors kept the crowd fed all day and night long.

SSeward Music Fest - Erin Lemas

Erin Lemas waiting all day for the chance to get her face painted like a fairy by Sarah. Best part of the night was watching the transformation!

Seward Music Fest - Belly Dancers

Belly dancers in the afternoon got the crowd ready as kids and adults were dancing in the aisles and in their seats.

Seward Music Fest - Beer Garden

The infamous beer garden. I spent just a wee bit of time in there that night. Just a wee bit though!

Seward Music Fest - Dakota

Very happy to see Dakota Silvers, one of the guides at Exit Glacier Guides before he took back from California. Great guy – can’t wait to meet up again in our travels.

I love Seward, Alaska for a few different reasons. The first being the people – genuine, down-to-earth, hard-working people. I’m blessed to call a few of them friends. Seward is also one of the prettiest places I have found in Alaska. I absolutely feel alive when I am there. It is a magical place.

This was the band lineup from the weekend. Such good music, I was dancing and having a good time – you should come next year!
