Talk Tuesday: Should I Keep Doing This?
It has been harder to get questions for Talk Tuesday… debating if it has ran its course or not. Thoughts? Talk Tuesday used to be my most read post every week. It is where you get to ask me whatever you want and I answer you here. Did you miss the prior weeks, take a peek as there is some good stories in there: Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5 | Week 6 | Week 7 | Week 8 | Week 9 | Week 10 | Week 11 | Week 12 | Week 13 | Week 14 | Week 15 | Week 16 | Week 17 | Week 18 | Week 19 | Week 20 | Week 21 | Week 22 | Week 23 | Week 24 | Week 25 | Week 26. Have a question for me about anything under the sun? Ask away in the comments below before next Tuesday.
Let me ask this again – do you still like Talk Tuesday? Should I keep it for 2015?
It seems that the last couple of weeks it has been harder to get questions from my readers for this segment. Do you like seeing this weekly post? Should I keep it or maybe turn it into a biweekly or monthly post. Thoughts?
Now back to our regularly scheduled program…
Have you been on a rafting trip in Alaska?
I’ve actually never been rafting anywhere. I would love to raft this summer from Denali as it looks pretty amazing. I’m not the strongest swimmer so that has typically kept me out of any water sports. But you know me, I will try anything once! Wanna go rafting with me?
What is something still on your bucket list for Alaska?
I still have a few things that I want to do. Ok, more than a few, but here is a short list:
- Go see a polar bear in the Arctic Circle.
- Go ice climbing with Exit Glacier Guides down a glacier crevasse
- Cruise throughout the Southwestern part of Alaska and visit the breweries there.
- Fly to Kodiak Island and see all the Grizzly Bears
- Go Salmon Fishing on the Kenai River
- Go Halibut Fishing anywhere!
- Visit the peony farms
What is your favorite gluten free dish?
I realized that none of my gluten free recipes are on this site but are on my retired blog. Looks like I have another project to add to my plate! One of the things I love to do is make the salad the star of dinner and not just a side dish. Here is my recipe for Strawberry Spinach Salad which is oh so delicious.
What is your favorite smoothie ever?
This is another topic that is getting its own special page on the blog. I have become a smoothie-holic and I love them! I make green and red smoothies and love them both. Here is my favorite combo that I haven’t made in a bit so don’t have an image for it. But please, check back on the blog in a few days for all of my recipes (still need better images, I know!)
Green Banana Smoothie
1 cup Spinach
2 leaves Kale
1 banana
1/2 lemon
1 cup Vanilla Yogurt
1 cup Vanilla Almond Milk
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Honey
1 scoop Pea Protein
2015 Travel Plans
The question I get asked every single day is – what are you plans for this year? Well, to be honest, I still really don’t know. What I do know is that as of right now I will be in Alaska for February and for the Iditarod at the beginning of March. After that the plan is looking like I am going to on a 3-week work trip through San Francisco, Austin, and Idaho. That then puts me at my birthday – and whether I stay down in the Lower 48 for it, I just don’t know yet.
I am still planning on going to TBEX Spain, which is the travel bloggers conference put on by the same people that run NMX/BlogWorld at the end of April and spend May in Europe.
The logistics of getting out completely of Alaska before April make my head spin. I want to be here in the summer so I am being torn emotionally in many different directions. I am hoping that things become clearer to me soon. But as of right now, I have no idea how this year is going to turn out or where my wanderlust spirit might lead me.
The other question I often ask myself – Should I keep doing this? Should I keep traveling? It weighs heavily on my mind. Some of my friends really hate that I travel and others love it and support all the crazy fun things I get myself into. So yes, the question I ask myself everyday – should I keep going?
