You all know that I am a huge Best Buy fan. Well, they went and decided to go and turn a tired, old basement into the Ultimate Man Cave. Personally, I want to check out how to customize a Kegerator with 3D printing tap! Can you even imagine? This craft beer lover would build the Ultimate Man Cave with this as the focal point! Really, it would be the Ultimate Craft Beer Cave. 🙂
Just think about… being able to use design software to create a custom Kegerator handle? Best Buy made a retro-inspired boombox, complete with little tiny cassettes. It might not be a working boombox (3D printing tech still has a ways to go before that is possible!), but it still will be the talk of the Friday night beer tasting.
Is this idea a little over the top? Absolutely. First, we screwed off the tap handle on a Kegerator. Then, we used design software and a 3D Printer to replace it with something more unique—a retro-inspired boombox. It took about ten hours to print, not including the tiny cassette we printed with a different color of filament. No, it’s not a working boombox (3D printing technology isn’t that advanced…yet), but it sure makes for an interesting addition that you won’t find in more average man caves. Just think of enjoying a cold craft beer out of your customized Kegerator tap handle!
